So I'm opening up for commissions to those who like my work. :)

I'll be offering three types:

1) Sketches
2) Inkings
3) Digital Paintings.

While this is primarily for pony art, I'm perfectly happy accepting other kinds of commissions you suggest if I feel it's something I can accommodate. Whether you want me to post the work here or just email it to you is up to your discretion. Due to current living situations, I will not be mailing my sketches and inkings to people, sorry; they'll just be pictures taken of them and uploaded.

Email: Mookface3@yahoo.com

I'd like to use email for sending work and sketches to commissioners, though you can ask for commissions through this email, deviantart profile, or my tumblr at askponyzikah.tumblr.com.

Process

My process will be receiving the request, scraping together one or two quick doodles to show you the direction I'm wanting to go and whether you like it. At that point, a price will be made and I'll expect to be paid it to continue. I will not charge more throughout the drawing process, don't worry. You can expect to see it done within a week at the most unless something comes up, wherein I will inform you. If you want to have WIP reports, that's fine, just request them and I'll email you what I've gotten so far.

Price

On average I'd say sketches should be ~$15, inkings ~$30, and paintings ~$60. These should just be viewed as the default prices though, and I'm perfectly happy discussing the price for a piece when it comes to paying. Paintings, especially, are subject to change if the commissioner wishes not to have a background or simply wants a basic pose; Like applejack below, I'd say it would cost just as much ($30) to get a digital painting of that same drawing instead of a colored inking, partly because of how much of a pain I have with coloring traditionally.

These are some examples of what I'd consider around these price ranges.

For what reason you'd commission me

First and foremost, I expect those who commission me to be doing so because they like my work, and not just because they're looking for anyone to draw something for them. In that regard, how accurate a drawing will be to what you want will all depend on what references you give me. If you wish for things to be precise, some kind of visual reference will help greatly, whereas only granting a vague descriptions will have me filling in more blanks for you. Again, I'm expecting you like my work and will enjoy what I fill in if this is the case.

I'm not saying this to scare anyone off, but the last thing I want is for someone to request something and give me a description that doesn't specify much, only to then be upset when it looks similar to the rest of my work. I'll say it one more time to make sure:

First and foremost, I expect those who commission me to be doing so because they like my work.

Rule 34

Almost forgot to address this. I will accept Rule 34 and gore, but at my discretion. If I do not wish to draw it and refuse, that's simply how it is. If I do accept it, I will not be posting it here or on my blog. Again, I don't want to discourage or scare anyone off, but while I feel I can draw it, I don't exactly have examples and can't see anyone really coming to me for this kind of work. But this all depends on what exactly the request is.

Conclusion

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me both here and on my tumblr. To add, while I'm not going to have any booth or anything, these commissions are being done partly to help pay for a trip to Galacon, which will be my first convention. :) I very much appreciate those who enjoy my work enough to commission me and help me reach that goal.

I pretty much stopped using DA for awhile because it was more of a hassle than tumblr, and I wanted to focus my time on becoming a better artist than trying to spread my art.

I'm realizing now that if I at least try and put some effort into PR by joining groups and submitting stuff and actually updating this regularly, I'd be in a much better position. Not to say I don't appreciate the watchers I have now, but when there aren't that many who care to see your work you tend to care less about putting it online; and this is all my fault of reasoning.

So, first order will be to start joining groups and submitting new work to them. :)

As can be seen, I haven't updated the comic or deviantart all that much.

Most of it has to do with me actually being able to paint now. I tend to go through little spurts of large change in my artwork, and when it happens, projects tend to fall away a bit while I mess around with my newfound power! (or, uhm, drawing ability).

This is why I didn't want to start the comic til I was at a comfortable level where things wouldn't fluctuate wildly and I could make the comic more consistent with aesthetic approach. This doesn't mean I'm done with it, but it'll be on hiatus until further notice while I try and paint more stuff.

All I can really say about it is that I'm sorry. Not updating on a schedule consistently is one of the largest things that bothers me about Web comics, and here I am doing it.

Anyways, I'll still try and keep this updated with stuff. If you want to see a more daily update of my doodles you can go to my tumblr: workbreakpony.tumblr.com/

Thanks to everyone who does enjoy seeing my stuff. :)

Moving

1 min read
Alright. Since I promised to move out at the end of this semester, which is coming soon, I'm going to have to find a place to move to. This, added to a few few other things has made actually working on the comic difficult. I like to say I don't get stressed very easily, but with school, work, and this, I feel a bit swamped.

So, really, I just want to apologize for not getting the comic up. That was the one big thing I wanted to keep consistent. By no means does this mean I'm done with it, but until moving gets settled it will be a bit random when they get up.
